Empowering eclectic education,
One avenue at a time
Who Are We
Empowered Avenue is an education service which currently provides fun, hands on learning sessions for children. We also provide details of these in the form of videos so others can benefit.
Our Mission
Empowered Avenue is passionate about eclectic education however that looks for the child and their family.
What We Do
We incorporate different alternative learning methods including Montessori and natural learning into sessions for children. We also do weekly tips videos to aid the wider public with their home education.

Our history
Empowered Avenue was born from a gap in the market for services targeted at younger home schooled children or children not yet in school. Not being old enough for school excursions or activities, but being too old for playgroups, we wanted to provide a safe place that children could come together on a regular basis and learn something in a hands on manner. Thus, Empowered Avenue was born and grew into what it is today.
Rebecca Wraight (founder) is a Primary School trained educator with a background in Psychology. She has studied child development extensively as well as different learning styles and alternative methods for teaching. Falling in love with the Montessori approach shortly after having her first child, she has then studied the method (and others) from a home educator perspective and has sought to facilitate this learning environment for her children. She has experience teaching in a range of settings including school, home, swimming and highland dancing and loves to expand her knowledge and experience by trying new things.
She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, A Graduate Diploma of Education in Primary School Education, current Teachers Registration Board registration, HLTAID004 Child Care First Aid certificate, CPR, Asthma and Anaphalaxis training, Police clearance, Working with Children Check, Bronze Medallion, Pool Lifeguard Qualification, Trainee Aquatic Trainer and Assessor and current Austswim licence including Infants and Pre-Schoolers. She has completed her full Highland Dance Teachers exam in 2019 and currently holds a Teachers Qualification with the Scottish Dance Association of Australia.
